Extravaganza Participants

Ask the Organizer - Professional organizers Janet Jackson and Alicia Miller will be on hand to answer pressing organizing questions and also explain their growing profession. And - as a preview - check out the "Save it or Shred it?" article in this newsletter for tips on what to save and what to shred!

City of Piqua Recycling - At this booth you can pick up recycling containers and learn about the city's recycling program.

Secured Shredding - Tired of paper? Come shred wtih us!! This is a great, cost-effective way to rid your office (home or business) of clutter. To make sure we can help as many as possible, please bring no more than three boxes or bags of papers. Cost is 10c per pound. (An average paper box container can hold an average of 30-35 pounds of papers.)  Please remove all paper clips and rubber bands. Staples do not need to be removed.  The organizers and other volunteers will be on hand to help unload vehicles.

The Miami County Solid Waste District - This group will have their model of a landfill and literature available to help the community understand what happens to our waste.

City of Piqua Fire Department - Mercury Exchange. Exchange a mercury thermometer for a brand new digital thermometer. (Those bringing their thermometers to the mercury exchange are asked to double bag their mercury thermometers.)

City of Piqua Storm Water Utility Department - Representatives will be on hand to explain their function and disseminate information about the storm water utility department.

Rumpke - Enter your family in the drawing for four Dragons Baseball tickets!! You will also appreciate Rumpke's informational displays and materials.

City of Piqua Electric Distribution Department - The distribution department's power bike will be on hand so that cyclists can "see" their pedal power light a 60 watt light bulb.

Touch-a-Truck - Younger visitors will get to see a fire truck, an electric line truck and a vac truck.
